ProSiebenSat.1 taps Accedo for VOD services

ProSiebenSat.1 has tapped technology outfit Accedo to provide the platform for seven video-on-demand services associated with its linear channels.

Accedo’s AppGrid cloud-based platform is supporting VOD services for ProSieben, Sat.1, kabel eins, sixx, ProSieben MAXX, SAT.1 Gold and kabel eins Doku. Each service has a strong emphasis on live TV, featuring a live stream of the channel for the first time ever in Germany. Users can also enjoy episodes of their favourite shows on catch up, as well as the latest video news.

Each VOD service is available across multiple devices, including Samsung Smart TV’s Tizen and Orsay, and the DTAG Next Generation TV platform Set-top-box.

According to Accedo, the broadcaster has made a series of changes to its services by using AppGrid, which allows services to be configured remotely.

“ProSiebenSat.1 Digital is giving its viewers more content and experiences from each of their favourite channels,” added Michael Lantz, CEO, Accedo. “This will enable the users to download the VOD services better suited to their preferences and ultimately get a better, more personalised experience, something which is becoming increasingly key for the modern consumer.”
