Non Stop gets Connick Jr., new Canal+ deal
French celebrity news channel Non Stop People has renewed its carriage deal with Canal+ and acquired local rights to Harry Connick Junior talkshow Harry.
The channel is operated as a joint venture between Banijay Group and Mediatic System, Hugues Dangy’s investment vehicle.
Harry, in which the crooner interviews celebs, will be stripped on Non Stop through the week at 19:00. The channel acquired it from NBCUniversal, which sells it internationally.
The programming news comes as Non Stop, which launched four years ago, renews its deal with Canal+ Group securing it carriage on the pay TV company’s DTH and IPTV platforms.
Internationally, the channel is distributed in several countries with large French-speaking populations including Algeria and Morocco.
A Spanish-language version of the channel is carried on Telefonica’s Movistar platform in Spain.
