Lagardère Group-owned media listings and metadata unit Plurimedia, Dutch TV guide provider Bindinc and pan-European TV metadata specialist Media Press, which operates in Germany, Switzerland and Poland, have teamed up to create The European Metadata Group, with the objective of providing an integrated Europe-wide metadata offering.
The group, which is open for other European companies in the space to join, will aim to distribute metadata content, in multiple languages in response to the needs of the market, to OTT and SVOD players, TV operators and consumer equipment manufacturers.
A key goal of the group will be to deliver metadata in different languages through members that remain close to their local market players, while providing a one-stop shop for all metadata via a single unified platform.
The group will also focus on delivering rich metadata comprising detailed programme information, photos and videos, based on a single unified quality of data, with unified client service standards.
