Virtual reality headsets from Facebook-owned Oculus will be available in Europe and Canada from next month, the company has announced.
Oculus Rift headsets and in-store demos will be available from Amazon.co.uk, John Lewis, Currys PC World, Game Digital and Harrods in the UK, from Amazon.fr and Fnac in France and from Amazon.de. MediaMarkt and Saturn in Germany. In Canada the devices will be available via Best buy and Microsoft Store Online.
The suggested retail price for the UK is £549 (€633) and, for France and Germany, €699.
The equipment will be distributed with VR platformer Lucky’s Tale along with hundreds of 3D 360° videos and VR movies, along with access to VR games from the Oculus Store.
Demo titles include The Climb, VR film Henry, interplanetary experience Farlands and introductory experience Oculus Dreamdeck.
Oculus Touch, the company’s hand-movement-mapping control software, will be showcased at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany along with a line-up of Touch game titles to be released later this year.
