Facebook-owned photo-sharing service, Instagram, is going head-to-head with Snapchat with the launch of Instagram Stories.
The new feature will allow Instagram users to post videos that disappear after 24 hours and won’t appear on their profile grid or news feed.
The update also includes text and drawing tools so that people can edit, annotate or doodle on their posts, while multiple photos or videos are grouped together as slidehows.
Announcing the launch, Instagram said that Stories “lets you share all the moments of your day, not just the ones you want to keep on your profile”.
