Sony’s over-the-top TV service, PlayStation Vue, has launched on Roku devices in the US, with support for Android smartphones and tablets to follow next week.
The service is available on Roku Streaming Sticks, Roku Streaming players, and Roku TVs. From next week a PlayStation Vue mobile app for Android will also be available on Android smartphones and tablets running OS v4.4 and higher.
The mobile app will support Chromecast and other Google Cast-enabled devices. Users can also access PlayStation Vue on Chromecast though compatible iOS devices.
“Since we’ve launched PlayStation Vue nationwide, we have heard from many of you that Roku and Android are the top devices you wanted us to add, so we’re pleased to make this a reality,” said PlayStation Vue head of product, Dan Myers.
There are three PlayStation Vue packages available for people to subscribe to – Access, Core and Elite. Priced from US$29.99, US$34.99 and US$44.99 per-month, these offer 55, 70 and 100-plus channels respectively.
