InfraMed invests in Eutelsat’s Broadband for Africa scheme
Investment vehicle InfraMed has struck a deal with Eutelsat to become a 21% stakeholder in the satellite operator’s Broadband for Africa venture.
“In leveraging state-of-the-art satellite technologies, Broadband for Africa will offer telcos, internet service providers and government agencies a quality solution that enables more Africans to get online,” said Laurent Grimaldi, CEO of Broadband for Africa.
“We welcome InfraMed as a shareholder and look forward to benefiting from its track record of successful infrastructure investments.”
InfraMed is a long-term investment vehicle launched in May 2010. With a commitment of €385 InfraMed is primarily dedicated to infrastructure in the Mediterranean area.
