Trace Sport Stars launches on South Africa’s OpenView HD

Sports lifestyle channel, Trace Sport Stars, is due to go live this week on South African free digital satellite platform, Openview HD.

The channel will go live at 12pm this Friday on Channel 154, broadcasting content about sports stars’ “passions, commitments and their secrets”.

“We are delighted about the new partnership with OpenView HD. Viewers will get the opportunity to know the real stories behind the sport stars they admire”, said Trace senior vice-president, Southern Africa, Leo Manne.

The sister company of the South African independent broadcaster e.tv, Platco Digital, launched OpenView HD in 2013. The platform now broadcasts more than 20 digital channels spanning music, movies, lifestyle and culture, learning, kids’ and religious programming.

“TRACE Sport Stars will take a unique view on sport stars, giving our viewers access to content that is not currently available on the OpenView HD offering”, Said Ziyanda Mngomezulu, channel acquisitions executive at Platco Digital.

“Over the past few months, the platform has grown significantly and will soon hit another milestone of reaching half a million decoder sales.”
