Vimeo has launched in-app SVOD options for partners following its recent acquisition of white-label video streaming platform VHX.

The new payment feature lets viewers subscribe to partner-branded over-the-top (OTT) apps on their Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Roku devices.

“We’re excited to help our sellers tap into the Apple and Roku app marketplaces, where the potential for discovery and subscriber conversion is huge,” said VHX’s co-founder and head of product, Casey Pugh.

“We’ve already seen success with one of our top sellers — viewers who find their app in the app store are 33% more likely to start a free trial than viewers on the web.”

Earlier this month SVoD service MHz Networks, which offers foreign-language content subtitled in English for the US market, migrated its video service to VHX’s OTT solution. YouTube channels Black&Sexy TV, and Yoga with Adriene have also launched in-app subscriptions in the Apple and Roku app stores.
