Orange had 8.2 million TV customers at the end of the first quarter, up 10.4% on a like-for-like basis year-on-year, driven by strong growth in France and Spain.
In Spain, the operator had 365,000 TV customers at the end of March, up almost threefold, with over 60% of sales being driven by its football offering, according to deputy CEO Ramon Fernandez.
Fernandez said he expected the convergent customer base in France to increase from under 50% to 60% in the next two years. In Spain, about 80% of Orange’s customers are converged customers, taking a bundle of fixed and mobile services.
