Telenet sees strong triple-play and mobile growth

Telenet shop_leuven_58Liberty Global-backed Belgian cable operator Telenet saw strong triple-play growth in the first quarter and took its mobile base to three million following the acquisition of BASE Company from KPN.

The group increased its triple-play base by 6% year-on-year to end the quarter with 1.109 million triple-play customers, driven by demand for its Whop and Whoppa bundles, while the acquisition of BASE saw its mobile base top three million, with 21,600 net mobile post-paid subscribers being added in the quarter.

According to Telenet, ARPU incrased by 5% year-on-year to reach €52.30.
Telent posted revenue growth of 5% to €552.5 million and EBITDA growth, including BASE, of €2% to €262.1 million.

The company expects EBITDA growth of 5-7% over the next three years. Rebased EBITDA for the current year is expected to remain stable versus 2015.
