Liberty Global-owned cable operator UPC Cablecom is expanding the range of HD channels it makes available in Switzerland.
From April 20 the operator will add HD versions of France’s public channels – France 3 HD, France 4 HD and France 5 HD – along with seven other channels. These will include French services W9 HD, TMC HD and NT1 HD, with together with the France Televisions channels make up about 20% of the market share in French-speaking Switzerland.
In the Biel/Bienne region, UPC Cablecom is also adding HD versions of German regional channels Tele Z and Tele D.
From the same date, all customers in French-speaking Switzerland and Biel/Bienne will also be able to watch Rai HD and LCI HD unencrypted.
UPC Cablecom is also adding US international channel PBS America to its line-up, marking the channel’s debut in Switzerland. The channel, like the HD services, will be available to all Cablecom subscribers with a Compact, Classic or Comfort TV package.
