Instagram ups video upload limit to 60 seconds

Instagram logoInstagram is upping the maximum video length for clips uploaded to the service to 60 seconds, from a previous cap of 15 seconds.

Announcing the move, the photo-sharing social network said that in the past six months the time people spent watching video increased by more than 40% and that “longer videos mean more diverse stories from the accounts you love”.

Instagram also said that it is bringing back the ability for iOS users to make videos out of multiple clips on their camera roll.

The update begins rolling out this week and will be ubiquitous in the “coming months”.
