Users of social messaging app Snapchat reportedly now watch eight billion videos on the service each day.
According to a Bloomberg report, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel revealed the figure to delegates at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference in San Francisco yesterday.
Spiegel reportedly said that video views are up a factor of more than five year-on-year and that Snapchat’s more than 100 million daily users spend an average of 25 to 30 minutes on the app each day.
In November, Facebook said it now has more than eight billion daily video views, with more than 500 million people watching content through the service each day. The figure was revealed by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg during the firm’s third quarter earnings call.
