UPC Poland signs managed services deal with Ericsson

UPC_logo_highLiberty Global-owned digital cable TV and broadband services provider UPC Poland has signed a managed services agreement with Ericsson.

Ericsson will take responsibility for field maintenance in UPC Poland’s network and for delivering improvements in network quality and operational efficiency.

“The expansion of infrastructure is our strategic priority which will enable UPC Poland to significantly increase its scale of operations and investments aimed at advancing of the quality of digital services,” said Liberty Global’s CEO of central and eastern Europe, Severina Pascu.

“Teaming up with Ericsson will facilitate further dynamic growth of the company, providing superior experience to our customers in the ever changing digital world, and a further career development in a stable, international organisation for those UPC team members, who will start their employment at Ericsson.”

The five-year deal takes effect from April 1, 2016 and represents Ericsson’s first cable managed services contract in Poland. The firm signed a similar deal with UPC Hungary in September 2015.
