Ukrainian cable operator Volia said that the volume of internet traffic generated by subscribers on its network increased by between 20-35% last year as a result of its upgrade strategy.
Volia has upgraded its network in key cities to the EuroDOCSIS 3.0 standard, enabling it to offer speeds of up to 400Mbps. The company currently markets speeds of up to 200Mbps via its Volia Turbo and Volia Turbo HD packages.
Volia technical director Oleksandr Hnydyuk said that data traffic on its network in Kyiv had increased by 20%, while traffic in other upgraded cities of Zaporozhye, Kirovograd, Lutsk and Lviv increased by 35%.
Volia has also recently upgraded its networks in Biloy Tserkvy, Zhytomyr and Fastiv.
