Sky hails German court’s card-sharing sentence

sky deutschland_eingang_1253x823_02A German regional court has sentenced a 53-year old man to one year’s imprisonment for illegal card-sharing of pay TV operator Sky’s service.

The Verden regional court sentenced the man, from Leese in Niedersachsen, for illegally selling access to Sky’s service over the internet.

Sky hailed the decision as the first time a higher court had ruled that card sharing was computer fraud and therefore punishable by imprisonment.
