Mediaset Premium passes two million

MediasetMediaset Premium, the pay TV unit of Italian broadcaster Mediaset, passed the milestone of two million subscribers at the end of 2015, according to CEO Pier Silvio Berlusconi, speaking on the fringes of a presentation on non-profit initiative La Fabbrica Del Sorriso at Mediaset’s HQ last week.

Berlusconi said that ARPU for Mediaset Premium was up, despite a decline elsewhere in the pay TV market, according to press reports.

Berlusconi said Mediaset had a strong relationship with Vivendi. Asked about a possible deal with the French media giant, he said that “everything is possible”, echoing statements made by Vivendi chief Vincent Bolloré.

Berlusconi said that there were no significant talks underway with rival pay TV service Sky over a potential deal between the two pay TV groups.
