Deutsche Telekom-owned Hungarian telco Magyar Telekom is to begin migrating its analogue cable customers to a new digital platform from March 1.
The migration, which will see cable subscribers in Budapest and Marcali in south-western Hungary move to digital, will provide users with unencrypted digital channels with additional features such as EPG and parental controls.
Customers using older TV sets with SCART or RCA connectors will need to acquire approviate converters, whjcih will be forwarded by the operator free of charge. Customers also have the option to acquire a digital TV with an integrated DVB-C tuner.
Local TV channels will not be affected by the change.
