Liberty Global-owned German cable operator Unitymedia is adding five new TV channels to its programming line-up.
The new services are ARD and ZDF-owned factual channel Phoenix HD, kids channel KiKA HD, entertainment channel Universal Channel HD, Asian channel Zee TV and Germany’s channel for refugees living in the country, Handshake2Deutschland.
All the new channels are offered free of charge with the exception of Universal Channel HD, which is is part of the premium Digital TV Allstars package.
The channels will be added on February 16.
Unitymedia said it plans to add further HD services in the course of this year.
