Nordic telco TeliaSonera has named Anders Olsson as chief operating officer and head of global services and operations, and a member of the group’s executive management team.
Olsson was previously executive vice-president of strategic projects at Tele2. He will assume his position in TeliaSonera by July 8 at latest.
The appointment follows the telco’s move last year to combine Group Technology and Group Commercial into a Global Services & Operations (GSO) unit which has been operational since January 1
GSO will be responsible for creating new businesses, exploring potential revenue streams and long term investment opportunities.
“I am very pleased that we have been able to attract Anders to join TeliaSonera. He has a long career in a successful company and his leadership and experience will be very valuable in the next phase of shaping of TeliaSonera,” said Johan Dennelind, president and CEO of TeliaSonera.
