Former Slovak Telekom CEO Miroslav Majoros has taken over as CEO of Telekom Romania, owned, like the Slovak operator, by Deutsche Telekom Group.
Majoros, who took over on January 1, replaces Nikolai Beckers, who has left the group. Majoros will remain chairman of the board of directors of Slovak Telekom.
Michael Tsamaz, the chairman and CEO of Greece’s OTE Group, the Deutsche Telekom-owned operator that directly owns Telekom Romania, said that Majoros would bring experience of a market that faced similar challenges to Romania.
