Euronews launches in Japan

Euronews has launched for the first time in Japan in partnership with IPTV operator Hikari TV.

Euronews’ English and French language services will be available as part of Hikari TVs basic service in HD.

“Our company offers seven international channels so that foreign residents and visitors to Japan may also enjoy watching Hikari TV. We are pleased to add Euronews to our line-up of broadcasting services,” said Hikari TV president, M. Koji Bando.

Euronews CEO, Michael Peters, added that Hikari TV will give “millions of subscribers” the opportunity to access Euronews, and said that the deal “shall contribute to making Euronews in Japan a long lasting and sustainable project.”
