Liberty Global-owned German cable operator Unitymedia has launched a slate of new apps for its Horizon advanced TV platform.

New developments include the integration of eight new game apps from Gametree/TransGaming and the inclusion of the new app from Netherlands-based music service XITE, which was recently shortlisted for DTVE’s Content Innovation Awards, held in Cannes earlier this month.

Liberty Global is adding eight new casual games from Gametree/TransGaming, including Mah Jong, solitaire and darts. XITE’s enhanced music app enables viewers to personalize the channel by choosing to skip or play videos, allowing the platform to learn their preferences over time.

Unitymedia said that several more apps would follow over time, with a number set to be added by the end of this year.
