French media giant Lagardère has rebranded its TV and Film division Lagardère Studios.
The unit previously operated under the Lagardère Entertainment banner. It said the name change was part of its wider international growth plans, which have seen the company reorganize its content operations into four parts: French TV production, international TV production, format production and distribution, and digital.
Lagardère’s stated aim is to “become a major player in European audiovisual content production”.
Announcing the rebrand today, Takis Candilis, president of the new Studios unit said: “This change of identity complements our recent reorganisation into four divisions. The Lagardère Studios strategy is to continue its expansion drive, consolidating and extending its leading position in France and developing it in Europe.”
