Liberty Global is offering concessions to secure EC approval of its acquisition of Belgian mobile operator BASE Company from KPN.
The EC did not provide details of the concessions offered by the operator. The Commission has extended its deadline for a decision on the deal from September 21 to October 5 to study the proposals.
Liberty Global-owned Telenet agreed to buy BASE for €1.325 billion in April I a move to provide it with a long-term mobile play. The operator launched two mobile offers in 2012 and more recently launched Family Deal packages providing discounted multiple SIMs in the homes of existing and new triple-play customers.
