LiveU and Sky News claim Guinness Record for live streaming

LiveU and Sky News have set a new Guinness World Record for the most concurrent live web streams for an event, the two companies announced.

Sky and LiveU streamed feeds from 138 locations to cover 150 constituency results during the UK general election in May.

LiveU supplied 138 units for the coverage, including comprehensive testing, to help Sky News produce what it described as “the most ambitious and wide-ranging [election] results service available.”

LiveU is a provider of IP-based live video services and broadcast solutions. The Sky units were controlled by LiveU Central – LiveU’s unified, cloud-based management platform.

“We were already proud that Sky News, one of the world’s leading news operations, chose LiveU as a key technology partner for the UK general elections. We are even prouder now following the tremendous success on election night and Sky News winning a world record,” said LiveU CEO, Samuel Wasserman.

LiveU will exhibit at IBC at stand 3.B62
