Following its trial transmission of the Champions League football final in June and launch of a testbed channel, Canal+ is ramping up its 4K efforts with plans for further test broadcasts of football matches between Monaco and Paris Saint Germain on August 30 and Paris Saint Germain versus Olympique Marseille in October.
The Monaco-PSG match will, like the Champions League final test, be a closed trial and will involve the deployment of nine UHD cameras, according to reports.
Canal+ is expected to launch a UHD channel sometime next year.
