The public broadcasters of Malta and Turkey have signed a cooperation agreement covering the broadcast of English-language programming and cooperation in the production and broadcasting of cultural programmes.
Malta’s PBS and Turkey’s TRT have signed a deal that will provide for radio and TV programmes in English to be mutually transmitted. The two organisations will also ooperate in the production and broadcasting of cultural documentaries relevant to both countries.
The agreement will also facilitate the exchange of technical information and professional resource training.
In May this year, the two broadcasters collaborated to produce a series of documentaries on the historical heritage of the Maltese Islands and plans for a number of similar programmes dealing with Turkey’s historical heritage are in the pipeline.
