Yahoo said that it video revenues grew by approximately 60% in the second quarter, as it worked to transition to Brightroll’s programmatic advertising platform.

Speaking on the internet firm’s Q2 earnings call, Yahoo’s chief financial officer Kenneth Goldman said: “We saw strong sequential growth from video as our integrated BrightRoll plus Yahoo! sales efforts are resulting in new wins from large agencies and advertisers, starting up significant sponsorship deals for many of the new video programs showcased at NewFronts.”

Overall, Yahoo said that its ‘mavens’ business unit saw revenue grow 60% year-on-year on a GAAP basis to nearly US$400 million (€366 million).

Mavens revenue is that generated from mobile, video ads and video ad packages, native ads, and Tumblr ads and fees.
