MTS to launch OTT service

Russian service provider MTS plans to launch an OTT service, MTS TV, aimed at smart TV, PC, mobile, iOS and Android devices.

MTS has hired local technology provider SPB TV to deliver its platform. The service will offer 100 channels, along with a selection of movies, series, cartoons and other shows.

SPB TV is providing CDN services along with the video platform itself. MTS TV will offer multiscreen access, support for Google Chromecast, a single user profile, a mix of live and VoD content and personal recommendation, among other features.

MTS plans to launch in August on the LG smart TV platform, with other smart TV portals to follow by the end of the year.
