Turner Broadcasting has hired Dan Fahy as senior director, commercial development, for its operations in the UK and northern Europe.
At Turner, he will be handle carriage negotiations for the Turner channel portfolio, which includes Cartoon Network, Boomerang, TNT, truTV and TCM. Another key element of Fahy’s new role is devising a digital distribution strategy incorporating on-demand.
Fahy joins from UKTV where he was director of commercial and business development, handling distribution and the commercial strategy for UKTV’s digital service, UKTV Play.
Based in London at company EMEA headquarters, the Turner new recruit will report to Ian McDonough, senior VP and managing director, Northern Europe.
McDonough said: “In addition to growing revenues across existing channels, this critical role will evaluate opportunities presented by new technologies and distribution partners, including wireless and interactive service providers.”
Prior to UKTV, Fahy was at Eurosport and Red Bee.
