Macedonia experienced a 5.6% increase in pay TV subscribers in 2014, according to Macedonia’s Agency for Electronic Communications (АЕК).
AEK said that there were 359,000 pay TV subscribers at the end of the year, compared to 340,000 a year earlier.
IPTV was the fastest growing pay TV segment, with subscriber numbers growing 12% year-on-year to 99,000. Cable TV remained the most popular platform with 186,000 subscribers – up 3.7% year-on-year.
Makedonski Telekom was the leading operator with a 25% share of subscribers, followed by Robi at 20%. ONE and Blizoo were third and fourth with roughly 16% market share respectively.
