Voo taps SeaChange for évasion catch-up and restart services

voo évasionBelgian cable operator Voo has tapped SeaChange International to enable personalisation features as part of its new évasion TV service.

SeaChange’s Adrenalin platform is enabling Voo to launch restart and catch-up TV services.

Adrenalin is also enabling Voo to offer automatic bookmarking so that subscribers can pause a programme and resume later on a different device. The ability to record programs remotely from a connected device for subsequent viewing via set-top boxes will be added to Voo this year.

Évasion, originally branded VOOmotion, was launched in 2012 as a multiscreen service for smartphones, tablets and PCs.

“évasion is a major advance because it makes our experience highly personal and consistent across all platforms,” said Tamara Leemans, Voo’s Chief Technology Officer.  “SeaChange has played a big role by putting more intelligence into our operation to enable restart and all other functions to work seamlessly across different screens so that users can watch and enjoy our content wherever they are.”

Jay Samit, CEO, SeaChange said, “From the outset, Voo’s multiscreen TV service broke new ground in the industry and this customer has not stood still. SeaChange is thrilled to collaborate on a large scale offering that demonstrates precisely how television service providers can adapt and compete for consumers.”
