Orion Express expects strong growth this year

Russia DTH pay TV operator Orion Express expects to grow its subscriber base by 12-13% this year, outperforming the local pay TV market.

In an interview with the Standard newspaper, CEO Cyril Makhnovskii, said that Orion Express would grow strongly this year, outperforming analysts’ expectations for the pay TV market overall of 5% growth.

Makhnovskii said that Orion Express had grown its base by 75,000 in the first quarter, taking its total to 2.655 million, up 3% on the year-end figure. The company posted revenues of RUB802 million for the quarter.
