Samba TV, which is based in San Francisco, said that it will use Filmaster’s recommendation engine in its smart TV applications and that it has already begun deploying the technology.
It added that the deal now represents its biggest office in Europe, with Warsaw to be Samba TV’s primary product development group for European-focused products.
Filmaster is a software company specialising in recommendation engines, built on its own proprietary artificial intelligence and machine-learning algorithms.
Its technology will be deployed by Samba TV to help viewers quickly find content they are likely to enjoy based on past viewing behavior.
Filmaster is backed by German venture capital firm HackFwd and HardGamma Ventures in Poland.
Samba TV already has operations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Austin, Tokyo and Taipei.
