Canal+ is partnering with set-top box maker Technicolor on Cube S, a new hybrid terrestrial TV and internet set-top box that is available immediately across France.

The firms said that the Cube S offers the complete portfolio of Canal+ content “in a direct-to-consumer offering for the first time – all in HD.”

The small box uses over-the-top delivery to give access to more than 150 channels, including French DTT, Canal+ and CanalSat, as well as on-demand and catch-up TV services. Customers can also access music and radio on the box through partnerships with Deezer and Radioline.

“The Cube S represents a totally new chapter in our vision for the Canal+ experience. For the first time, we can offer French audiences our complete range of content over the internet in one beautiful set-top box, a small cube,” said Frederic Vincent, executive vice-president, technology and information systems, Canal+ Group.

“Technicolor’s engineering and design expertise has allowed us to create a truly innovative and stand-out product that offers all our content in HD.”
