Verimatrix agrees cardless security deal with Digicel

verimatrix-logo-4c-w-tagSecurity specialist Verimatrix has struck a deal with communications provider Digicel to protect the latter’s high definition digital entertainment service.

The agreement, agreed with Digicel New Media Ventures, sees Verimatrix deploy its Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for DVB to protect the to protect the Digicel Play offering.

The cardless solution is designed to be cost-effective, saving Digicel from managing the logistics of smart cards.

“Verimatrix gives us the flexibility to seamlessly expand our service offering to multiple screens in the future, while also protecting our current content offering,” said Alan Constant, chief technology officer, Digicel New Media Ventures.

“We chose to deploy VCAS for DVB to protect our Digicel Play service because of the credibility and flexibility of the VCAS system, and its ability to seamlessly integrate with our preferred head end and set top box (STB) providers.”

Ericsson, Kaon Media and Magnaquest all helped in the deployment, with the service delivered via a hybrid DVB-S/DVB-T2 network and accessible via the Kaon Media VM-9150 set-top box.

 

Verimatrix will exhibit at ANGA COM in hall 10.1, stand M10.
