Arris and Akamai partner on IP delivery

Arris has partnered with Akamai to offer the latter’s Aura Licensed Content Delivery Network (LCDN) as part of its end-to-end IP video portfolio.

Arris will integrate Akamai’s LCDN and Aura Object Store into its IP video solutions – including the Arris M3 Media Server, Spectrum CPC, and nDVR.

Commenting on the agreement, Arris said it will give operators a variety of choices for streamlining, managing, and scaling digital content delivery.

“As customer expectations around TV viewing and video consumption change, pay TV solutions must evolve as well. A key part of that evolution for network operators is the adoption of CDN technology as part of their overall solution,” said Mick Scully, vice president and general manager, carrier products, Akamai Technologies.

“We’re confident that the partnership with Arris will expand Akamai’s presence with network and cable operators and also help us scale from a support perspective.”
