Altice gets conditional green light for PT acquisition

The European Commission has given a green light to Altice’s €7.4 billion acquisition of Portugal Telecom under condition that the cable and telecom investor sells its existing assets in the country’s, cable operator Cabovisão and business service provider ONI.

The EC had rejected an application by the Portuguese competition regulator to have the file returned to it.

The move opens the way for Altice to acquire the Portuguese telco’s domestic Portuguese operations from Brazilian operator Oi.
