Vodafone España will begin offering quad-play services in Spain from April 20 in direct competition with Telefónica, according to local reports.
Vodafone and cable unit Ono will offer converged services, including 4G mobile access, at a discount for customer who sign up for one or more mobile connections, according to the reports.
The move will put Vodafone in head-to-head competition with Movistar Fúsion, Telefónica’s converged offering.
Ahead of the launch, Vodafone reportedly plans to migrate Ono mobile subscribers to its own 4G network. Vodafone is also expected to close a number of Ono retail outlets where these are close to existing Vodafone shops.
