Russian media and communications regulator Roskomnadzor has granted Turner Broadcasting’s CNN channel a licence to broadcast in Russia.
The move will allow Turner to relaunch the news channel in the Russian market, following its withdrawal at the end of last year.
CNN had previously broadcast in Russia through satellite pay TV operator NTV+’s broadcast licence. The channel was available via NTV+’s service as well as via cable and IPTV networks owned by Akado/Komkor and VimpelCom.
