Virgin Media launches Sky Sports on Android

sky sports android vmLiberty Global-owned UK cable operator Virgin Media has made the Sky Sports app for Android devices available to its subscribers who take Sky Sports services. 

The app, which was previously only available for iOS devices, enables Sky Sports subscribers to stream the Sky Sports channels, including Sky Sports 1 to 5, Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports News HQ live on Android devices via 3G, 4G or WiFi.

Scott Kewley, Director of Digital Entertainment at Virgin Media said: “The Sky Sports app for Android cements our position as the home of sports TV at home or on the move and means we now have a full complement of Android and iOS apps for both Sky Sports and Sky Movies. Our customers enjoy the same access to Sky Sports on the go as Sky customers.”
