The Malawi government said it intends to pre-qualify potential authorised distributors of DVB-T2 compliant set-top boxes as part of its digital broadcasting migration project.
Malawi’s Ministry of Information, Tourism and Culture is inviting qualified distributors to apply to carry out the acquisition and distribution of DVB-T2 compliant STBs by Wednesday 25 March, 2015.
Malawi has adopted DVB-T2 with MPEG-4 compression as its national standard, and aims to migrate from analogue to digital terrestrial television broadcasting by the ITU-defined date of 17 June, 2015.
