Magyar Telekom sees multiscreen, IPTV boost

magyar telekomAlmost half of Deutsche Telekom-owned Magyar Telekom’s subscribers now take its IPTV service, with over 100,000 registering for its TV Go multiscreen service. 

The company said it had 450,000 IPTV customers, up 14% on last year, while over 100,000 had registered for its multiscreen service, with over 50,000 customers using it every day.

Overall, Magyar Telekom said it had 920,000 TV customers – including cable and satellite customers – amounting to a 27.2% market share.

Magyar Telekom, which hosts Deutsche Telekom’s competence centre, plans to introduce new services soon, including a gaming platform that is available both on web devices and TV screens, removing the need for a game console.
