Eva, a new telenovela pay TV channel operated by AMC Networks International – Zone, is about to launch on DStv.
The roll out on the Multichoice-owned pay TV platform, which starts on March 23, will be programmed with telenovelas dubbed into English and Portuguese.
Content is being sourced from including Spanish-language channels Azteca, Caracol Televisión and Venevisión.
Chris Sharp, chief content officer, AMCNI – Zone said the new service will “satisfy the African audience’s growing appetite for telenovelas”.
Aletta Alberts, general manager, content for MultiChoice South Africa added: “Audiences love watching telenovelas – they simply can’t get enough. We know that our Premium, Extra, Compact and Family customers will be thrilledwith the brand new, never before been telenovelas that Eva will bring to their screens.“
Eva is the tenth channel brand from in AMC Networks International portfolio in Africa, sitting alongside the likes of CBS Reality, CBS Action, CBS Drama, AMC, JimJam and Extreme Sports Channel.
