Tele Columbus reports TV declines
German cable operator Tele Columbus reported a slight dip in unique TV subscriber numbers for its fourth quarter and full year 2014 results.
The firm ended the year with 1.311 million basic cable TV subscribers, down from 1.388 million a year earlier. Premium TV subscriber numbers came to 161,000, down from 164,000 a year earlier.
Total TV revenue for full year 2014 was €142.5 million, down from €145.0 million a year earlier. For Q4 it was €35.6 million, compared to €36.4 million a year earlier.
“TV revenue has remained relatively flat mainly due to portfolio clean-up and ongoing voluntary disconnections,” said Tele Columbus.
“In premium TV, the performance over 2014 has been impacted by negative options and end of analogue encryption.”
Overall, the firm reported full year profits of €213 million, up by 3.3% year-on-year. However, for the year, it made a reported loss of €21.9 million, compared to a loss of €8.6 million in full year 2013.
