Chinese tech giant ZTE has launched a 4K set-top box, the B860A, following the launch by China Telecom of a 4K TV service in Sichuan.
ZTE said it had secured contracts to supply about 40% of the boxes for the operator’s interactive TV service. According to the company, the ‘super HD’ 4K box features a 64-byte solution, Cortex-A9 architecture and 4-core CPU. The device is Andfoid 4.4-based and can decide H.265 video.
The ZTE B860A includes the 2.4G/5H WiFi and Bluetooth functions. The box features an 8-core Mali-4 GPU.
