ProSiebenSat.1 is reportedly considering buying German web portal Verivox and e-commerce business Unister.
According to Munich-based national German newspaper, Süddeutsche Zeitung, broadcast group ProSiebenSat.1 is looking to establish itself as a major player in the German e-commerce space and is looking at both businesses.
Verivox offers consumer price comparisons for gas providers as well as telecoms, insurance and finance. According to the report, a deal could value the site at as much as €300 million.
Unister runs a portfolio of 40 websites, including popular travel sites like ab-in-den-urlaub.de and fluege.de, with these travel domains on their own said to be worth up to €900 million.
Last week, Reuters reported that ProSiebenSat.1 and buyout group EQT are the only bidders left for Unister Travel in an ongoing sale process.
ProSiebenSat.1 reported 27.8% growth in digital and adjacent segment revenues in its Q3 2014 earnings. Totalling €158.7 million, this category accounted for a quarter of overall revenues for the quarter.
