Piksel makes three senior hires in EMEA push

OTT TV technology specialist Piksel has hired three new senior executives from FilmFlex and Ooyala in a bid to “advance commercial expansion” in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Greig Hilton, Jason Johns, and Jonathan Steel all join Piksel’s commercial team, led by executive vice-president of commercial Neil Berry, who himself joined from Ooyala in November 2014.

Hilton, who previously worked at FilmFlex, takes on the role of senior vice president for business development, managing relationships with pay TV operators, studios, and travel partners looking for entertainment solutions.

Johns joins from Ooyala as commercial director EMEA, and will head up Piksel’s sports and media market efforts, helping to increase fan engagement and grow audiences for Piksel’s Digital Stadium and Enterprise solutions.
Steel joins Piksel as a vice president, solutions architects. He was previously chief technical officer at FilmFlex.

“We’re building a brand new commercial team with senior firepower. These are experienced heavyweights in the online video industry, with the knowledge to drive growth in a transformational market,” said Berry.

“By bringing Greig, Jason, and Jonathan on board, we have the means to boost our footprint in our existing strategic accounts and key vertical markets looking to evolve their video monetisation strategies such as online video in airline entertainment.”
